TEXAS PULSE LAUNCH PR Case Study | ReconMR

THE OVERVIEW

The Texas Pulse is a new statewide research initiative created through a partnership between ReconMR, Siena, and the Texas A&M Bush School. Launched in June 2026, it needed strong initial media pickup to establish credibility and visibility as a new, independently credible research brand entering a crowded field.

As a new entrant competing against established, well-known research brands, Texas Pulse needed to get in front of the right media contacts fast, statewide outlets and reporters who could validate its credibility and drive early public awareness. Success meant more than sending out a press release: it required building the right relationships and targeting to earn real coverage from day one.

THE CHALLENGE

MY ROLE

I owned PR strategy and execution for the launch end to end, from building the media list to writing and distributing the outreach materials.

WHAT I DID

  • Compiled a distribution list of 100+ statewide media contacts, identifying the right reporters and outlets to reach for a launch of this scale.

  • Wrote and distributed a media advisory and press release introducing the Texas Pulse initiative, its partnership backing, and its purpose.

  • Managed outreach and follow-up with media contacts to convert interest into coverage.

THE RESULTS

The launch earned both national and local media attention, with high-profile outlets reporting on the initiative, establishing Texas Pulse's credibility and visibility right out of the gate as a new voice in statewide research.
